    Interesting game with FPS view

    Hi,

just found interesting video of game in works.
It is named "Mirror's Edge", and although I know little about it, the gameplay seems interesting ( mad run in urban environment ).

    Please have look

Worth pointing out is that unlike many other games where you see just hands of your character, here the body movement seems to take important role.

    That is really neat Petr.

I liked how in Return to Castle Wolfenstein that you could look around a corner

In CounterStrike you could actually lay down and army crawl.

BloodRayne she could suck the blood from enemies and have that brief period of vampire speed which actually made the environment seem in slow motion with special effects.

This new game takes it to a whole new level. This definitly seems worthy of a Virtual Reality Helmet to be immersed in the world!

I couldn't believe how they programmed the camera view and body so well, even little movements were awesome!!

    You are right Kent,

there was a lot of progress on this during years.
Also worth to mention "Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher bay" ( what a lengthy name ), where the body was visible too.

I think they made animations like they would do for 3rd person game, and then they attached camera to place near eyes on the model. As I said, similar it was in Riddick, but there was not so many moves, and for complicated ones it switched to 3rd person view.

In Mirrors Edge I like the feel of physical movement and incredible speed at the same time.
