I installed the latest ubuntu gutsy gibbon into a virtual machine in vmware. I then installed WINE and then thinBasic.
I first ran a console app and it worked.

I then ran a tbgl demo script, the one with particles and fonts and it ran also. This one ran slow as everything is emulated in software. I still thought it was neat that it all ran!!

The screenshot is with Petr's Space Game in the SampleScripts folder and also a console app showing colors :)

Hi Kent,

I am happy to see it runs under Linux too.
Hardware acceleration setup is a bit tricky in Linuxes for me, but friend managed to get things done using Envy (http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html).

Also I can see that richedit is not working too, thats a pity.

But good to know it works, I will try it too.

Petr, openGL in Haiku running in vmware it is very fast. So I think my slowdown is from running Wine under vmware, that double emulation and away from the hardware.
But envy looks like a nice find for direct installs of ubuntu.

It is fun to tinker with these other OS's but I still like XP the best, especially for use in a home environment.
