Today I installed Thinbasic on a Linux OS, called UBUNTU. It seems to work pretty good with WINE (a windows emulator). Good to know, right?

p.s. Is there a way to edit my homepage-URL in my profile? Maybe I am blind but i can't find where to change that....

It is on the sub-menu bar: Forum Actions / edit profile.

Hi Martin,

thanks for letting us know :) I remember some years ago I was able to install and use TB on Ubuntu 9.
Which version do you use?

Hi Petr,

I'm using version 11.04. Since the last update, Ubuntu has a new interface. Some like it, other not. Personally I love it. It's fast, safe, free and easy. And I am really happy that I can also run ThinBasic now. No desire anymore to step back to Windows :)

Now I can run thinBasic on Linux!

This is one of the things I have been looking for.

Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.
I'm getting more & more concerned about the route Microsoft are taking with Windows 8 & apparently relegating the desktop interface (to oblivion in Windows 9 ??). So it's good to know that Thinbasic will run under Linux/Wine.

There will always (well ... next xx years?) be a desktop in one way or the other
