Frank it would make more sense to post the obj file with texture.
hi all
dear petr, jason...
- sorry for lately reply.. I am back tomorrow and active with more inputs again..
qt: do you know petr, why your fantastic "obj2m15" tool cannot convert some OBJ file with textures? I send one example with the error messages ("Can't find texture for OBJ file") I have got the last weeks while converting my models... - perhaps it's possible to improve the tool ???
- have a nice day, I celebrate birthday ;D with friends ... prosit and free beer/wine/weizenbier for all !
bye, Lionheart

Hi Frank,
happy birthday
I am not able to answer your question without the input - obj+mtl+texture.

hi all
hi petr, michael c.
of course... I have forgotten the texture.. now I have included obj, texture, m15 file... sorry... there were too much beer yesterday thank you petr was a very good and funny day ...
- here it's just a 'dummy ufo' object (without perfect symmetry), not just perfect, one of my first attempts before some weeks... but for my example to convert it a good one...
- the zip file includes now everything (incl. 'black-white-raster1.bmp' texture) to check it I am sure
- more will come later...
good afternoon, lionheart

Hi Frank,
thanks for the update, but there is still MTL file missing
But anyway ... what is the problem? M15 file has texture mentioned ( although with different name than the one you attached ). When I rename the texture, model is loaded with it mapped.
"Can't find texture for OBJ file" should mean it is not within the directory with OBJ, not that is cannot be used.
Bye,
Petr

hi petr...
yes, I have lost this little mtl file
- hmh... do you mean everything is ok when you are seeing the mapped texture with the black-whiter-raster bmp ??? would be very nice... ;D I cannot see the mapped objects with the model-viewer... but perhaps built into one of the tbgl scene examples I have created last weeks... I will check it again... otherwise may be I have a graphic card driver problem...But anyway ... what is the problem? Frank the problem is the texture name.
this is what is inside ufo5-example.mtl

As you can see the filename is basic018-bmp.bmp but the texture you supplied is basic018-black-white.bmp.
either rename your texture or use notepad to edit the mtl file.

hi petr, hi michael...
I have done some new models, I will mapped the objects with texture and then check it if I have got the same problems...
...thank you for the good hint to the little mtl file.. I can read it with an editor and see what's going wrong with the texture I have lost so many times before... but I am sure, the mistake didn't belong to the texture name... I have changed it as I have had some *.png and *bmp files with the same name... sorry...
I will take a new *.bmp texture to map my new city buildings and use the same name
this infos included only material properties of my new city material but it's good to proof it...# ==========================================================================
