    Re: Game: Story, Setting

Ok, it's put "Pressure time" right now ;D

To Simone, Lionheart008, Abraxas: Can some of you guys please could come up with a good description of a story and a setting so we get things started in the art department? We also could design a possible campaign mode when we know the background of this game.

    Thanks guys in advance
    Michael

    Re: Game: Story, Setting

I knocked this up quickly for the back story.

let me know what you think.

sorry about the zip (perhaps Eros could add rft to the list)

I will work on the description of the cities.

Did you want Game Characters, actual people? I think it would be better to make the name of the player the character name.

Anyway wifes in bed got to go

Great Abraxas. I really like that. What I would like to know is how the rebels efforts in destroying the race actually look like. Does the player choose a city? Can he be a rebel? What is his job when he is one? You said that the cities have different technologies. What kind off?
Again, great start. Thank you very much!

    Re: Game: Story, Setting

    Thanks Guys.

    Q. What I would like to know is how the rebels efforts in destroying the race actually look like.
    A. Not sure yet, I was thinking that they would have their own craft try and not players off the track and lay mines or destroy part of the track.
    Q. Does the player choose a city?
    A. Yes
    Q. Can he be a rebel?
    A. NO, that would be better for us to control (i think :-\)
    Q. What is his job when he is one?
    A. see above answer
    Q. You said that the cities have different technologies. What kind off?
    A. each city could specialise in a different science, biomechanics, nanotechnology, Thermodynamics, Acoustics

look here for more options http://mistupid.com/science/fields.htm

    Re: Game: Story, Setting

I got a chance to read the story. My immediate thought when I read about the rebels, was since they don't have tech really, they would sabotage the track with rude explosives or weakening support structures and with the stress of the vehicles passing by each lap, the track parts sabotaged would collapse.

The story really sets up a nice backdrop for why the race exists, and a reason for why strange things could throw a twist into the race-- like sabotage.

Thanks Abraxas for a clever story that gives some good direction for the game.

I wont be doing any work tonight because I think my friend has broken one of my ribs with his elbow and I just cant concetrate.

I will try to think up some visuals for the game.
