    How the Dictator Works

how the dictators can order a big army to commit crimes even if the dictator are just a Frog, as an example the syria president bashar alasad?
i believe this is done by 2 ways:
1- partitioning the army to many small military bands, so if a band refuse the orders she will not harm the army.
2- the most dangerous situation for a dictator system is the communication, if there is a strong communications between different army bands then it is natural that they will tend to cooperate against the dictator system. so the major action of the dictator is to prohibit the communications between army bands.
now if a band officer want to refuse orders he can't be sure the position and the opinions of the other bands, the uncertainty here are playing a major rule.
now the question remains how to terminate a dictator system without resorting to outside forces like what happened in Libya ?? seems to me this is a hard computational problem .
the future quantum effects communications will change the world so it is impossible for forces outside the bulk opinion of the humanity to exist. (may be!!)

I think you should read Milgram's famous experiments on obedience:

Here are some of my random, biased thoughts.

The worst people make it to the top of power structures. If Assad felt bad enough about what he was doing to people, he wouldn't do it, he doesn't feel that bad. You could say the same thing for when Bush Junior invaded Iraq (By some estimates over a million Iraqis were killed. Do you think Bush loses sleep about that?).

Power structures are pyramid shaped. At the top level is one person, and each lower level has more people than the previous one.

The higher you go in a power structure, the worse the people become. They don't get to the top by following the Golden Rule.

Even today, in 2012, people are not emotionally screened to determine if they can be trusted with power. The only judgment is by the person's public presentation, which is often the opposite of his internal state.

Most humans are some combination of dumb, selfish, willfully ignorant, and cowardly.

Governments are so powerful that, it is almost impossible for someone to survive in defiance of one. If a person defies the government, he will at least be imprisoned. If he resists, he will be killed. Most people cannot face this truth, so, they tell themselves that it is not true.

Many people personally benefit from being part of the pyramid, and, that's all they care about.

Many of the people who enforce the perpetuation of a power pyramid have authoritarian personalities (police, soldiers), they fear freedom, at least the freedom of others.

Those at the top of power pyramids constantly bombard the populace with propaganda disinformation.

The power pyramid does all it can to hide any public display of dissent. It knows that such displays are contagious.

The power pyramid media portrays dissenters as defective, mentally ill, terrorists, anarchists, etc.

It is true that people are more likely to resist injustice as a group rather than individually. In a group, the retribution from the power pyramid is diluted. So, communication between prospective dissenters is crucial.

We are still in an era in which one person with lots of money, has more power than millions with none. In other words, money rules the world. Those with all of the money, generally are the worst people.

One person with money, can effectively buy a person at the top of a power pyramid, and shape the law to what benefits him. We see this now all of the time with corporations (which the U.S. Supreme Court (Do you think these former lawyers are likely to be less corrupt than politicians?) has ruled should be treated with the rights of people).

Politicians have demonstrated that they are, as a group, narcissists. Therefore, they can be bribed by those with money.

Politicians are not prevented from making laws which only apply to others, not themselves - and they exhibit no shame about doing it, a trait of anti-social personalities, i.e., no shame.

Concerning wars, those who benefit from them, are insulated from the harm they inflict.

A lot of our troubles have to do with capitalism. It is a corrupt Darwinian system which masquerades as honest and fair.

Probably, as a rule, the last people who should have power, are those who will do anything to get it. But, today, the first people to get power, are those who will do anything to get it.

If a country is powerful, then, there is no penalty to its leaders for anything they do. That is clear from the recent actions of the United States (in my opinion, covertly, even against its own people).

In cases in which there is the possibility that a false flag event has occurred, the government investigates itself. What could be crazier? Is a murder suspect permitted to determine whether or not he is guilty? Actually, the hypocrisy of governments is endless. What applies to the individual, in no way, shape or form, applies to the government. And everything a government does is ultimately justifiable (according to it), because, the most important goal, is always its own survival (all individuals are expendable in the effort to attain that goal), no matter how corrupt it is.

Governments do all they can to instill nationalism in the populace. They try to instill in the people, the notion that it is noble to sacrifice oneself for one's country (government). They know that it helps to mix religion with patriotism, so, they invoke God whenever they can.

Today, I think partially in response to the communication revolution, governments are doing all they can to make survival difficult for ordinary people. The harder it is for someone just to survive from day to day, the less ability he has to organize with others against government injustice.

Governments also do all they can to distract the population with the trivialities and idiocies of entertainment, professional sports, etc.

Today, citizens armed with guns, would be massacred by the government's military and its latest weapons (which, incidentally, the citizens are forced to pay for).

The government withholds so much information from its citizens. In the United States, what information of interest, is not classified?

The government has secret budgets, secret agencies which function outside of any law, etc (Allegedly, the CIA makes huge profits from selling drugs, but, we'll never know for sure, at least not anytime soon, yes?).

At least in the United States, the president is able to circumvent any law, just by issuing an executive order. So, what do citizens have which they know they can rely on? The answer? Nothing.

To me, the United States government is the embodiment of what Kafka portrayed, infinite layers of bureaucracy, with no accountability.

(This list could go on and on, correct?)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

One more thing, concerning corporations, which, I have unlimited disdain for.

How long before one institutes its own private military?

In that case, what would prevent a corporation from going to war and defeating a country?
