I've grown accustomed over the past fifteen years to using Ctrl-Y to delete a line. The first program I remember that from was Microsoft Quick C.
May I suggest adding the ability to do a search and replace only within a block of selected text? If the option is checked in the Replace dialog, a Replace All would operate only on the selection.
